Funeral Planning
Funeral planning is becoming an increasingly more popular option. It can be hugely beneficial for your loved ones, taking away much of the stress that they might otherwise have to deal with when you pass away.
Often it is our loved ones that are left to pay the costs of a funeral. Funeral planning allows you pay for your own funeral in advance – either in full or as instalments over an extended period of time. Not only will your loved ones not have to pay a penny, but you could beat rising funeral prices by securing a payment now. The financial benefits are one of the major reasons as to why people seek out funeral planning.
Another big advantage is that it allows you to specify all your wishes, saving your family the difficult task of making this decision for you. You can plan out every detail of your funeral from whether you’d like to be buried or cremated to the music/hymns that you’d like played during the service. This can offer many people a peace of mind – your loved ones don’t have to worry about planning your funeral and you can rest assured that your funeral will go exactly as you’d like it to.
At Nicholas O’Hara, we offer our clients The Independent Way Funeral Plan courtesy of Golden Charter. By using a third party to protect your money, it ensures that your money is kept secure until your death – even if the worst was to happen to our company, you won’t lose your money. The Independent Way Funeral Plan is one of the most trusted funeral plans in the country and Anthony O’Hara has been heavily involved in its growth as a member of the SAIF charter National Executive.
So long as the full amount of your funeral costs has been paid before your death, you can be certain that all your specified wishes will be met. We understand that people may decide to change their plans at a later stage and so we allow amendments to be made (if these require additional payments, we will let you know).
When discussing funeral plans, we like to meet up with our clients so that we can discuss all the options in depth. Funerals are becoming bigger and bigger events and we want to ensure that every detail has been covered. We can offer a quote in writing if required and we are able to accept multiple forms of payment.
Some people prefer to pay the full amount up front. In such cases, we accept cheque, debit and credit card.
For those that want to pay it over a longer period, we offer a 12 month interest free direct debit plan. On top of this, we all offer longer instalment options ranging from 2 to 30 years – these instalment options do come with interest, which can vary depending on your age at the time of purchase.
Nicholas O’Hara works with a number of charities. We donate some proceeds from all of our funeral plans to Julia’s House via Golden Charter – this money goes to helping the Children’s Hospice. We also donate money to the RBL Poppy Appeal.
